Fall is starting, so it’s about time to break out my Vampire Weekend collection but I’ll leave one last sound from Summer.

Fittingly, both of these videos are totally weird.

These are two of my favorite songs this month. Hat-tip goes to my brother (also an E) for the Noisettes recommendation, and do I even need to explain why SBTRKT is so perfect? The vocalist he snagged for this track is perfect – the way he pulls his punches on the “coldest stare”/”dont’ even know” lines are magical.

One of the best songs in the world, and perfect for July 4th. Hope Independence Day treats you well, and skip to about 2 minutes in if you’re an impatient listener. I’m warning you, though – its worth all 8 minutes.

This mixtape is crazy. Give it a listen: club music meets 90′s RnB and hip-hop. Riddims pieced together from Timbaland tracks, chopped up rap vocals, and more. I’m about 15 minutes in and it’s already one of my favorite tapes of the year. Grab it here.

Also, I’m too lazy to update a blog. Twitter is just so much easier. But none of this is important. What’s important is what has transpired in the world since I last posted. Most notably, a new Katy B album, an incredible mixtape by Big KRIT, and an awesome music video from Florrie.

You’re welcome. Sorry I’m lazy. Also, hard to believe that I’m graduating in two weeks. It’s been an incredible four years in Rochester, and I will miss this place dearly but I also know how good it will feel to take the next step. Big shoutout to RIPROC for all the love and advice these past few years.

This is what good music (or, I assume, morphine) sounds like. “What You Need” is my personal favorite, if only because of the gorgeous Aaliyah sample/shoutout.

This morning, Google deleted all my mail. This evening, they decided to fix it by disabling the rest of my account. This wasn’t a hack, it happened to 100′s of other people, and it’s a tiny bit inconvenient. Not like I’m applying for jobs or anything.

If you’ve tried to email me and received a “Could Not Deliver” notification, you can reach me at …. I apologize for the inconvenience, hopefully this will get resolved in the next day or so.

Resolved. Thank heavens.

Just got back from a great show opening for Telephoned and LMFAO. Meant to post about this earlier, but just wound up a little too busy. If you haven’t checked out Telephoned yet, please do – they’re from NYC and signed to Fool’s Gold Records. Like them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter, but definitely check out their stuff (Hold Me is a definite standout).

For those of you who come to our Dub Land shows, you might recognize the producer of Telephoned as none other than Sammy Bananas. Telephoned played last September, but we had Sammy out just last Thursday and he brought the house down.

And for looks, here are a few of the choice photos from the last few Dub Land sockhops:
